Oak Lane's history informs its current mission and program. The integrated, sequential curriculum is steadily refined, maintaining standards of excellence in the academic program. Throughout their years at Oak Lane, students develop skills, discover talents, form friendships, resolve conflicts, ask questions, and seek solutions. They are encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and succeed in a safe and supportive environment. Students become confident readers, articulate speakers, and lucid writers. They build solid foundations in math and science, and develop an appreciation of other cultures. Preschool through 6th grade classrooms are located in the Perch Hankin Classroom Building. Also housed in the Hankin Classroom Building are the library and technology facilities that are accessible to students, teachers and administrators. With over 7,000 volumes of books, the library facilitates student learning and encourages individual growth through the use of print and non-print material. The Leah Cutler Gymnasium provides space for indoor activities, and The Barn houses our music, science, art and drama programs. Administrative offices are found in the Hankin Classroom Building as well as The Mansion.
