| Our
Academic Programs |
Oak
Lane offers Art,
Language Arts,
Math,
Music,
Physical Education,
Science
and Social
Studies for all grade levels. Foreign Language is
offered as an age-appropriate, academic supplement in the Extended
Day Program. |
The
Learning Skills Program |
The
Learning
Skills Program (LSP) provides qualified students
with a daily one-on-one support session with a reading specialist
or special education teacher. The goals of this program are to identify
and teach skills essential to effective learning and to promote
success in the regular classroom programs.
Acceptance to the LSP is based on a complete review of the admissions
application, existing schools records, educational evaluations and
a school visit. With this support, the students develop an understanding
of their own strengths and weaknesses, learn self-advocacy skills,
and become independent learners. |
| The
Extended Day Program |
The
Extended
Day Program is available on the campus at an additional
cost each school day from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., and on some
school vacations days. The afternoon time is typically spent playing
games, playing outside, working on craft projects, and doing homework.
Snack is provided. Over the course of the year, there are opportunities
for art classes, chess, gardening, knitting, soccer, basketball,
swimming, gymnastics, foreign language and other activities. |
